As the temperatures drop, rodents like mice and rats search for warm shelter inside of homes. Common signs of a rodent infestation include:
- Droppings: Often found near stored food such as kitchen cabinets or pantries.
- Gnaw marks: Rodents are known to chew through walls, wood, and wires. Damage to wiring puts a property at risk of a fire.
- Nests: Usually in dark, secluded areas, where they likely won't be disturbed. Nests are commonly made of shredded paper products, cotton, and other fabrics and packaging materials.
- Rub marks: The rodent's oily fur makes it easy for them to leave dark grease and dirt marks along walls and floorboards as they travel between their nests and food source.
- Strange noises: If you are hearing scurrying in the walls or attic, it's possible a rodent is present, maybe even a rodent family.
