American Pest to Donate Funds Raised for Breast Care for Washington

American Pest is thrilled to continue our partnership with Breast Care for Washington (BCW), a local nonprofit that provides breast cancer screenings and care to women in D.C.—where the highest breast cancer mortality rate in the country exists. “It is critical that women are able to obtain an annual mammogram (beginning at age 40) regardless of their location or ability to pay,” says Liz Davey, Vice President of Development and Communications at BCW. “We seek to help overcome barriers that prevent low income, medically underserved women from receiving quality breast care.”

Since opening in May of 2014, BCW has screened over 1000 patients, but there are still too many women in our nation’s capital without access to proper breast cancer screenings and care. That’s why, for each residential service provided in October, American Pest has pledged to donate $1 to BCW in an effort to bring health and awareness to women across the DMV area. Along with observed “Pink Fridays” attire for the corporate office in Fulton, MD and pink personal protective equipment (PPE) and shoe covers for the technicians in the field, American Pest will also schedule various office activities to raise awareness, including cubicle and pumpkin decorating contests and food socials.

Help to support our breast cancer awareness cause by visiting American Pest on Facebook and Twitter or by making a charitable donation at www.breastcaredc.org.
