On November 29th American Pest hosted a superhero-themed event at the company’s corporate headquarters in Fulton, MD. The unique, day-long event was planned in an effort to show appreciation for its staff’s awesomeness. According to the results of a post-event survey that was sent to all employees, 93% of the staff classified themselves as satisfied with the employee appreciation event.
The uniquely-catered fare was a big hit with company employees, as there were treats for any appetite throughout the day. While many people considered the food delicious, it wasn’t the highlight of the day. The pest-fighting staff took many breaks throughout the work day to enjoy a large variety of the day’s components. The highest ranked activities of the day included free massages and caricatures provided by local vendors. Employees had opportunities to unwind through arcade games, oversized checkers, oversized connect-four, and a challenging game of poly pong.
Towards the end of the night—at the dinner and award portion of the event—there were multiple opportunities for staff members to take home a variety of prizes. A hurricane force money machine proved to be a challenging battle for some, but a cakewalk for others, with results ranging from $5 to over $250! Other lucky contestants won prizes during the company’s unique spin on the television gameshow “Let’s Make a Deal” and a drawing for the rest of the prizes. A robust assortment of prizes lined the front of the room—consisting gift cards, a 55-inch television, and a Virginia wine country weekend getaway for two with $500 resort credit. Although not everyone had the pleasure of taking home one of the wonderful prizes, all American Pest company employees were provided with either Red Wing boots or a fashionable Under Armour quarter zip.
Aside from the free stuff, many staff members were recognised and awarded as a result of a survey in which their peers nominated them for certain work and personality traits. Some of the awards included most caring, most sparkling personality, best dressed, and more. These awards were one of the many ways that American Pest addressed its appreciation to its heroic staff for each and every employee’s contribution to the company throughout the past year.
