American Pest GPS Dispatched Fleet

02/15/2012

News

American Pest recently implemented an innovative GPS dispatched fleet to improve the level of service the company provides to residents of DC, Maryland, and Virginia. GPS devices have been installed in each of the American Pest vehicles in order to improve driver safety, fuel efficiency, and communication.

The GPSAmerican Pest Service Territory devices provide real time monitoring of driving practices to strengthen communication between the service professional driving the vehicle and the office staff. This element of communication will provide up to the minute information about potential service delays which will in turn increase the level of customer service provided. American Pest can also use this information to locate the nearest service professional in the case of an emergency service request.

By utilizing real time monitoring, American Pest can virtually eliminate moving violations and other poor driving behaviors. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, speeding, rapid acceleration and hard braking “can lower your gas mileage by 33 percent at highway speeds and by five percent around town.” Fuel efficient driving not only reduces the American Pest carbon footprint, also but limits expenses which can translate to savings for customers.

The immediate alert of an accident from the GPS device could also potentially save lives with timely information delivered to those with access to help.
