American Pest Employee Receives 2010 Allied Member Award

Larry E. Edmonds, Commercial Accounts Manager for American Pest, was recently awarded the 2010 Allied Member Award from the Maryland Hotel and Lodging Association.

Mr. Edmonds has been an Allied Member of MHLA for two years, supporting their objectives in promoting the hospitality industry and establishing a presence in local schools. He has also initiated important relationships between the hospitality and pest management industries.

As a member of the Education committee, Mr. Edmonds has furthered MHLA’s goals to foster opportunities for Montgomery County high school students to gain professional experiences in the hospitality career track. Most of Larry’s work has been with the restaurant program at Paint Branch High School in Burtonsville. He has worked with the county Directors of Education to garner resources and create a scholarship for the program’s students.

In addition, Edmonds has provided informative talks to MHLA members about bed bugs and other pertinent issues in pest management.

Larry played a key role in planning and executing marketing projects designed to increase tourism and promote the hospitality industry in Maryland. He is also a member of the Golf Outing and Bowling committee for the annual tournament.
