American Pest's Winter Coat Drive racks up "bragging rights" and a warm thank you from Reservoir High School Work Study/Transition liaison John Wyseman.

"[American Pest's] donation clearly demonstrations your compassionate heart for others," said Wyseman, in a recent thank you letter to American Pest. "When you go outside, bundled up against the cold winds, I pray you will feel a special inner glow in knowing how your gift of warmth has made life better for others."

The 2011 American Pest Winter Coat Drive brought in a remarkable number of gently-used, cold weather apparel items in a range of styles and sizes.

In addition to employee donations, several American Pest employees participated by donating their time and materials to designing collection boxes, creating fliers, and sending community email blasts.

"It's really something to feel good about," said Miranda Sherman, Marketing and Advertising Manager for American Pest. "Seeing all the coats we collected really makes me proud to work for a company that cares."

American Pest plans to organize similar programs within nearby communities in an effort to benefit local charities. In 2012 the company plans to enhance its winter coat drive by reaching out to other area businesses for a combined donation effort. Collections will continue to be focused on gently worn cold-weather apparel for men, women and children and include:

  • Fall and winter coats and jackets
  • Gloves & Mittens
  • Scarves
  • Hats, Neck warmers, Ski Caps
  • Boots
  • Coveralls & Snowsuits
Additional cold weather clothing donations are still being accepted for drop off at 11820 West Market Place, between the hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday.
